Format fidelity

The structure matters as much as the words.

A useful export should still read like the conversation you had — not like a wall of pasted text.

Conversation order

User, assistant, and system messages stay in sequence, so the exported document still reads like a conversation.

Code blocks

Fenced code, line breaks, and language hints are reconstructed instead of becoming a wrapped paragraph.

Notion may shorten exceptionally long code blocks.

Tables

Rows, cells, inline emphasis, code, and links are converted into Markdown or native Notion table structure.

Merged cells and highly nested table content are not guaranteed.

Headings and lists

Heading hierarchy plus ordered and unordered lists are retained. Nested lists remain structured where the destination allows it.

Notion keeps two nested list levels; deeper levels are flattened.

LaTeX / KaTeX math

ChatGPT formula annotations are extracted into inline or block equations for Markdown, documents, and Notion.

Formula conversion is best effort; review complex equations.

Links and citations

Normal links and ChatGPT citation URLs are preserved as references. Image URLs may remain as links, not embedded media.

Images and attachments may remain as links instead of embedded files.

Long-conversation support: both plans allow about 5 million characters in one export. For plain English text without heavy formatting, that is roughly 700,000 words — well beyond a typical ChatGPT research thread. Both plans can use Markdown, DOCX, PDF, Notion, and Google.

What can I export from ChatGPT with Pactify?

Pactify exports the captured conversation in message order, including common headings, lists, links, citations, code blocks, tables, and math. Destination limits still apply, and images or attachments are not guaranteed as embedded media.

Which ChatGPT export formats are supported?

Pactify supports Markdown, Word (DOCX), and PDF files. It can also create a Notion page or send the conversation to Google Docs / Drive.

Does Pactify export ChatGPT thinking or reasoning?

Pactify can process reasoning that ChatGPT exposes as part of the captured message content. It cannot access or export hidden model chain-of-thought.

Are ChatGPT images exported?

Images and attachments may remain as links instead of embedded files. Pactify does not promise embedded images in Notion or every file format.

How many ChatGPT exports are free?

Free includes 100 exports per calendar month. Markdown downloads are unlimited and do not count. Other Free exports include a small Pactify footer.

What does unlimited export mean on Starter?

Starter removes the export-count limit and includes up to 500MB of exported files each month. Exports have no Pactify footer, and temporary file links remain available for seven days.

Do I need to connect Notion or Google first?

Only for those destinations. File downloads do not require Notion. To create Notion pages or Google files, sign in and connect that account once.

Can I bulk export ChatGPT history?

ChatGPT Bulk Sync is available on Starter and imports history to Notion in paced batches. Bulk Sync is not currently available for the other supported AI platforms.
