How do I export an AI chat with Pactify?

On a supported AI chat, find the top-right header controls in fixed order Badge → Sync → Export. Click Export to open Export AI Conversation. Under Format choose Markdown, Doc, or PDF; under destination choose Download, Notion, Google Docs (Doc only), or Print / Save as PDF (PDF only). Gray destinations show Authorize with Notion/Google to enable. Markdown Download and PDF are unlimited; Notion, Word (Doc Download), and Google Docs share the monthly export quota. Export does not fill Sidepanel Chats—use Sync for Search.
Steps
- Open an active conversationOn ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, or copilot.microsoft.com, open a real chat so the top-right header controls mount (not /share, Sites, or empty new-chat shells).
- Click Export (top-right)In the chat header top-right, controls are Badge → Sync → Export. Click Export (rightmost). Tooltip: “Export conversation to various formats.”
- Choose Format in Export AI ConversationPick Markdown (“Plain text with formatting”), Doc (“Microsoft Word format”), or PDF (“Printable page via Chrome”).
- Choose destination, then click ExportMarkdown: Download or Notion. Doc: Download, Notion, or Google Docs. PDF: Print / Save as PDF only. Disabled rows link Authorize with Notion/Google to enable. Confirm with the green Export button.
Where to click
On every supported AI chat, Pactify injects controls at the top-right of the conversation header in a fixed left-to-right order: Badge → Sync → Export (Export is closest to the page edge / native Share). Click Export to open Export AI Conversation. Distill is not in this header—it sits by the composer (input/send area).

Disabled destinations
- Notion grayed out → link text Authorize with Notion to enable
- Google Docs grayed out → Authorize with Google to enable
After export
- Confirm with the dialog's Export button (not only selecting a radio).
- Server conversions (Doc / Notion / Google Docs) may appear under Sidepanel → Exports. Client PDF print does not.
- Export never writes Sidepanel Chats—use Sync (or local index) for Search.
Limits
- No message multi-select—always the whole conversation.
- Obsidian is not offered as a destination.
- Markdown Download and PDF are unlimited (no monthly quota).
- Destinations Notion and Google Docs use the monthly export quota on your account.
- Free Markdown/PDF may append

Frequently asked questions
Can I export ChatGPT conversations for free?
Yes. Markdown Download and PDF are unlimited on Free (a Pactify footer may still appear). Notion, Word (Doc), and Google Docs share the monthly export quota on your account; Starter usually widens that cap.
Does exporting a chat add it to Sidepanel Search?
No. Only Sync / Auto-Sync / Bulk (including local-only “Saved to this device”) write Sidepanel Chats.
Which formats can I export?
Markdown, Doc (Word), and PDF. Destinations include Download, Notion, and Google Docs depending on format—see the Export overview table.
