How do I get the full history of a long AI chat?

Steps
- Connect Notion or CapacitiesThe full-history toggle stays hidden until a cloud destination is ready (not for local-only Saved to this device).
- Open a long conversationUse ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, or copilot.com.
- Flip the toggle on SyncOn the Sync button, enable the slider. Tip names the platform in education copy; loading may show Loading full {Platform} history...
- Sync or wait for Auto-SyncTurning the switch off cancels loading. On Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and Grok, opening another chat from the sidebar resets Sync — turn the switch on again if that chat is long.
Control name and placement
A toggle inside the Sync button (top-right header; order stays Badge → Sync → Export). No separate short label beside the slider. Accessibility name: Load full history and sync / while scrolling Cancel loading history.

When the toggle is missing
The switch stays hidden until Notion or Capacities is connected. Saving only on this device does not show it — see Local search. Copilot hides it on everyday chats because the page already has the conversation to sync. ChatGPT hides it when the whole chat is already loaded. On ChatGPT multi-device watermark cases, the switch can appear when the server is ahead of what the current page has loaded—flip it on before continuing Sync.
If loading older messages fails

ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Grok may scroll before an export. Copilot exports the conversation already on the page and does not scroll first. For a complete Sync, use this switch when it is showing. See Export · Sync to Notion.
Frequently asked questions
Why don’t I see a full-history toggle?
Notion or Capacities must be connected, and the page must still be missing older messages. Saving only on this device does not show the switch. Copilot hides it on everyday chats. ChatGPT hides it when the whole chat is already loaded. Claude shows it when older messages are still unloaded.
Do I need a Load full history text button?
No—the visible control is a toggle on Sync. Load full history and sync is the accessibility label.
Why did only part of my ChatGPT history sync?
The AI site may only have recent messages loaded. Flip the Sync full-history toggle before Sync so older messages load first. If Sync shows Needs attention after rate limiting, wait a few minutes or use Bulk Incremental.
